Massachusetts For Sale By Owner is a locally owned and operated regional "for-sale-by-owner" (FSBO) real estate advertising service based in Easthampton, Massachusetts.  Early in 2002, we opened our doors under the name Picket Fence Preview of Western Massachusetts.  Our goal was simple -- to offer consumers a way to sell their property without having to pay commission fees.  Realizing that it was difficult for private sellers to compete with real estate agents on a level playing field, we knew that we needed to reach buyers directly and give them what they wanted -- pictures, information and direct contact to the seller. Traditional methods of advertising like yard signs and classified ads were just not enough to reach a large pool of buyers and the best offers.  We began by distributing a full color magazine, loaded with pictures and descriptions of properties that were available exclusively "by owner".

In addition to our early magazine, we created an active website as a companion to our magazine.  Here, buyers could locate available properties, view slide shows and learn more about how to work directly with a home seller. In the next few years the popularity of the internet increased tremendously, and we have continued to expand our Internet capabilities. 

Our website today is an interactive community, offering Web 2.0 technology, PHP dynamic, with pinpoint mapping, RSS feeds, syndicated property listings that partner with our social networking and very active Blog. The internet alone is not enough, however.  Our strategically planned local marketing includes Media Partnerships, as well as our Buyer's Guide To 4 Sale By Owner & Builder, seen throughout the Western Mass area and available as a PDF download from out website.  In this way we meet the needs of our buyers and sellers like no other FSBO advertising service.

Through local workshops and seminars, public speaking engagements and articles in several publications, we continue to demystify the process of buying and selling real estate.  We love to share ideas and offer support to those who have made the smart decision to sell "by owner".
